Why I’m Running for Cottonwood Heights City Council

Like you, I appreciate living with incredible access to Utah's capital city, airport and nature, as well as spectacular views and an outdoor life style. Having three of our children within a five-mile radius is a plus, too!

In recent years parking lots, business towers, big box stores, billboards, hotels and faster, higher volume roadways encroach upon Cottonwood Heights' neighborhoods.

Uniquely, Cottonwood Hts has the challenge that visitors to Big and Little Cottonwood drive through our city year round, commuters from Sandy and Draper also drive through not to our city. To continue to build out large office space that further induces traffic onto our streets seems counter to creating a thriving lifestyle for residents.

Do we need more parking lots?

Do we need more parking lots?

I am running for office because I believe our future is at stake.

Through SmartCity planning, enforced zoning, adhering to master plans, and ethical, accountable and transparent governance, we can have the best of business development and a thriving residential experience.

As a business woman, understanding the needs and desires of all stakeholders then working to find practical, viable solutions and outcomes is something I practiced during my career securing meeting and convention business for Salt Lake County. I will bring this experience, as well as, my core belief in empathy, compassion and inclusiveness.

After four years of eldercare for my mother before she passed in 2017, I am sensitive to the needs of our senior community.

If elected, together, we can find the best balance for development that enhances our quality of life and unifies us as a community. Fiscally conservative, I will urge councilmembers to be cautious with tax-payer dollars and move our city toward a more just and verdant future.

Grandmother. Wife. Business executive. Youth and senior advocate. Outdoors-woman. Published writer. 40-year Salt Lake County resident.

Asking for your vote to protect the things we value and keep our city thriving!
