Butlerville Days 2022

Butlerville Days in Cottonwood Heights July 28-30th

Highlights for me:

The Saturday morning Historic Walk

Gayle Conger and Ronna Cohen’s historic walking tour on Saturday morning gave all of us who participated a crisp, fact-based, thoughtful insight into our city and the mountains we get to gaze at daily. Having these two women, each studied in their field, one in the social and economic pioneer and 20th century history of CH and the other in the geology and socio-economic history of the Wasatch/SL Valley area made the walk appealing on two distinct levels.

The way Ronna devised her presentation feeding digestible portions of geologic history at each of our shady stops, she compelled the group to ponder a given question “until our next stop”. It was masterfully organized and executed!

Gayle brought the struggles and challenges of the 19th century settlers vividly to life. . . as well, some CH developments on through WWI and beyond. Now, I want to take a tour of Don Cannon’s house! Ha. (Ask Gayle.)

Can’t thank Gayle and Ronna enough, along with all of PTOS and Historic Committee, for treating the public to this ongoing resource and intriguing experience.

At the Saturday parade:

Sandy City's float. It's theme: "One Sandy. Live Courageously". It featured UTA Transit. Transit -- part of a brighter, healthier future.

At the Saturday Carnival and Displays:

The Utah Farm Bureau’s presentation on the life of bees — their fascinating hierarchy. Did you know that a bee works a lifetime to give us 1/12 teaspoon of honey?
