February 12 Town Hall
10:15-11:15am, February 12. TOWN HALL MEETING at Whitmore Library. The Senate and House still have to vote to fund UDOT's Little Cottonwood Canyon Environmental Impact Statement (aka LCC EIS) projects including their Wasatch Blvd Expansion (six lanes of asphalt). There is much that citizens of SLCO can do to let UDOT know that "more lanes and more fast moving private vehicles through bedroom communities or within LCC is not the best answer." Let's work together on that!
Other Town Hall topics and updates include:
“Systematic Safety”
Mid-valley Active Transportation Plan
New draft for a Cottonwood Heights Public Works Complex
UDOT LCC EIS
I will be posting updates on VoteEllenBirrell.com/Topics. In the meantime, you can submit your contact info on the Home Page to receive my regular updates regarding things that effect Cottonwood Heights District 4. (District 4 is the easternmost side of CH and includes the gravel pit at BCC, Wasatch Blvd and the location of UDOT's LCC EIS preferred Gondola garage base.)
Hope to see you the 12th. Also, please mark your calendar to attend and participate in CH General Plan Open House March 8, and CH City Council Meetings 7:00pm every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month (except in March-- meetings will be March 1 and 22). Keeping mobility in the foothills and canyon safe and friendly for enjoying Nature's beauty is up to all of us! Let's participate and protect our natural resources together.
