Old Mill Update

Old Mill Update from Mayor Bennion

As Mayor of our city, I'm officially neutral on the future of the Old Mill. Fortunately, we have citizens working to give the Old Mill the chance for a future.  Read On:

Dear Friends of the Old Mill,

I  hope you have already signed our @ https://www.change.org/p/save-the-old-mill!!

We are at 4282 signatures today.  We grew by ~155 in three weeks!  We aim to collect a few thousands more.

So news we have all been waiting for.....  the independent engineering report has been released to our city.  The preliminary view seems to be that the Old Mill can be saved but likely not by private enterprises alone due to high stabilization costs. So no surprises. As such, we continue our quest for donations from the state and foundations and we are glad we had a head-start.  The report will become public at some point in October. STAY TUNED!

What we need help the most... At this moment, please get more people to sign the  petition on change.org to demonstrate to the state and foundations our passion to save the Old Mill. You can forward the petition to your neighborhood chat groups or pass out our attached flyer to your neighbors.  Do also join our Facebook Group and forward our poster to your network on Facebook. Donating to Change.org does prompt Change.org to show the petition to more people so that helps too.

Want to help more? We urgently need help to reach out to more foundations and high net-worth individuals.  We have reached out to Governor Cox and his office and 25 large foundations, but there are many more to go. We also need to reach to the press. If you can help, please let me know.

Thank you again for being part of this effort.

Warmly,

Save the Old Mill Community Volunteers
