As early as Monday, November 2, 2026, crews with Whitaker Construction will begin installing the new Salt Lake
Aqueduct Resiliency (SLAR) water line, as part of the Cottonwoods Connection project, across Creek Road near Deer
Creek Road. We expect this work to take about four months to complete.
To accommodate construction, Creek Road will be CLOSED to through-traffic, headed east or west, at Deer Creek
Road. Local access will be maintained up to either of the Deer Creek Road intersections. The detour route will be
Danish Road to Bengal Boulevard or Creek Road to 3500 East (see map below).
Deer Creek Road also remains closed to through-traffic between Bengal Blvd. and Creek Road. Resident access to the
Oak Hills Circle cul-de-sac will be maintained.
Please use caution when driving near the work zone, and reduce speeds when taking the detour route.
Typical work hours will be 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Nearby residents can expect construction noise
and vibration during work hours.
