WHAT'S IN UTAH'S AIR?

What’s in the air we breathe every day? Join us at the next USU Research Landscapes on November 11 as Dr. Janice Brahney explores this question—and shares some surprising discoveries.

I’ve attended a number of these presentations over the years. They are excellent!

An award-winning researcher at Utah State University, Dr. Brahney studies how airborne substances affect people and the environment. From dust rising off the Great Salt Lake to tiny pieces of plastic, her research offers a fresh perspective on what’s floating around us and why it matters.

RSVP TO JOIN THE CONVERSATION

The event will be held on Wednesday, November 11, from 4-5:30 p.m. at O.C. Tanner Headquarters (1930 S State Street) in Salt Lake City.

During a 30-minute presentation, you'll learn how dust from the Great Salt Lake connects to the air around us, why larger airborne particles deserve more attention, and how these materials can affect water, plants, and other parts of our environment.

Dr. Brahney will also discuss how her findings can inform better air-quality monitoring and highlight meaningful actions we can take locally. Join us for a fresh look at something we all share—the air we breathe.

Following the presentation, Dr. Brahney will lead a live question-and-answer session.
